Petalcrest Rosé — Outdoor Lifestyle CGI Still

A photoreal lifestyle visual for the Petalcrest 2022 Rosé, created entirely in 3D. The goal was to capture a relaxed summer gathering with a premium, editorial feel — blending tactile detail, cinematic depth of field and natural light into a single hero image suitable for web, print and campaign use.

Hero Lifestyle Visual

The composition focuses on the bottle as the hero, framed against a soft outdoor background and supporting glassware. Shallow depth of field, warm highlights and subtle reflections are used to emphasise the label and the rosé colour while keeping the overall scene relaxed and inviting.

Brief, Challenge & Approach

Petalcrest needed a flexible hero asset that could stand in for a full on-location shoot while remaining completely controllable in 3D. The challenge was to reach a level of detail and authenticity where the image could sit comfortably alongside high-end product photography, but still be fast to iterate for future vintages and label updates.

Photographic Composition

Real-world lens choices and depth of field settings were matched to outdoor commercial photography, keeping the bottle sharp while the background falls into a soft, painterly bokeh.

Material & Surface Detail

Custom glass and liquid shaders, label micro-texture and condensation droplets were built to give the bottle a tactile, premium presence on screen.

Flexible Asset for Campaigns

Because the scene is fully CG, label designs, bottle variants and lighting setups can be updated without reshoots, making the image a reusable base for future campaigns.

Technical Breakdown

The scene was constructed and rendered using a physically based workflow:

  • Physically accurate glass, liquid and label shaders with high-resolution textures.
  • Outdoor lighting rigged to mimic late-afternoon sun with soft environment reflections.
  • Procedural wood and surface imperfections on the table to avoid a sterile CG look.
  • Camera optics tuned for realistic bokeh, including anamorphic-style highlights.
  • Final polish with subtle grain and colour grading for a cohesive photographic finish.

This type of CG workflow allows wine, spirits and FMCG brands to explore multiple visual directions quickly — from pack shots to full lifestyle scenes — while maintaining consistent, high-end presentation across every channel.
